The fact that it's not a ghost, but rather an SCP-style cognito-hazard, puts things in a new perspective. It's actually renewed my interest in the series with that mindset, because most SCPs are vindictive and random. That said, hope is the first step on the road to disappointment, and dangling that hope (of the sister) will likely make things hit that much harder.

Damn! Sensei here is cold as hell, I like her a lot. This series got some fun blood to it! And I'm still SO in love with this 'Phantoms' design... I feel like this look at it is even better.then before. The fish form, mid-gutting, mixed with the sense of a yawning human mouth and black hair.... the way this orientation makes the gills into a kind of horrid slumped shoulder.... just gorgeous, gorgeous.

Interesting to see the rules are a phantom has like. Repeatable elements to it. A ghost-story-like 'triggering event', but with some degree of quantifiable result.
