Not the first to say it, but I am interested how the dragon will react to what's causing that drive and tenacity he has. I expect he'd have a lot less of that if he fulfilled his revenge. I also doubt it'd be easy for him to find a "sucessor", he'd also probably be throwing away the only thing close to a place for him to belong after he's fulfilled his purpose; doubt there'd be as conveient a plot device as a temporary stand-in as opposed to a successor.
