I know society and people in general tend to look down upon people for being single, but really, if you have mental issues to this degree, you should work on self-improvement with the assistance of a therapist BEFORE starting to date someone. If you've been going steady for a few years, it's different, but you really should learn to be the best and most efficient person you can possibly be before you involve another person. No one is perfect, but try at least to be functional as to minimize the bullshit you put onto others.
