Did the military guy get a promotion? The so called "Colonel" was a lieutenant in the previous chapters...
That would be quite the jump in rank.

Not familiar with SK rank badges but he could have been a Lieutenant Colonel with everyone calling him Lieutenant and was recently promoted. Wouldn't really be surprising for special forces team or group leader since he does seem to be a career soldier. Or could just be that the author/translators don't know anything about military rank.
