Interesting that it recasts Weavel as a human aligned with the Space Pirates, rather than the official bio of a former Space Pirate Commando. Given that the pirates as an organization have beings like Ridley and Kraid that aren't of the Space Pirate species, that seems fairly plausible, especially when doing it in an attempt to get back at "The Hunter".
