I plan to go forwards to the end but not backwards since it's already fully adapted in the anime. Filling in the gap (7-42) will take me another year which honestly, I don't think I have in me :)
The fact that you’re giving this series attention is satisfaction enough! You can always release the gap chapters whenever at your own pace, since there’s no real rush. Appreciate the hard work you’re doing!

I see what you did there

Woah, now this!? You're so real
This was always the plan. I read it a year ago and I didn't really get it. It's written by the same guy as Foreman but the language is more nuanced(?) maybe?
Training wheels are off though, burn-out be damned.

Talk about an early Christmas present!!! You're way too good to us with these 🥹🥹🥹 thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!

I used to have a lot of these geezers as clients. A simpler way to explain how to talk to them is like giving a massage - you find a tense muscle and knead it, older people tend to drop hints on what's ailing them and as long as you hook that point and disentangle it, they'll be all over you. Do be careful with not getting overly attached though

10 chapters here, I'm real excited about this

I can relate to your story. My old man doesn't talk about what he wants so you have to figure it out by taking note of what he says/doesn't say.

So excited to see you pick up this series! It's kinda weird to return to it after reading so much Foreman. The comedy and tone are similar, but the attitudes towards social relationships are so different. I guess it's the difference between coworker relations and friend relations. Like the way they try to appease Numakawa in the infamous cabbage in soup incident vs how they try to appease their older colleagues here, that comparison is very interesting.

Very cute chapter. I didn't realize you'd started on this series! Fuck yeah, more FKMT. This was the first post-Akagi FKMT series I really got into, wasn't super keen on Zero/Kaiji/Ten. For me, the Akagi universe with the gambling was heliocentric with everyone rotating around Akagi. When he's not in the picture, I'm not that interested.

By contrast, all the Teiai stuff has a ton of great characters with their own appeal. I love this stupid little universe of salarymen.

Hey hey~
It's a good time for you if you're following all of the FKMT stuff right now. It's like everything else started to move again since Kaiji's coming back.
I started with Akagi and got more into Kaiji and the spin-offs because i'm not too big of a mahjong guy. Must've been like 15 years ago now from where it all began for me?
