Holy hell that as a bombshell of a chapter and I am 100% sure now that their isn't much substance to this manga in terms of philosophy or psychology; if their is its very surface level like a high school student trying to be edgy in English class.
I'm surprised they would even allow "livestock" to breed in the first place.
Unless an entire family was tuned into "livestock" overnight along with their child.
My guess is that they must have been adopted by a wealthy and powerful family to be able to meet with the MC.

well prolly the perversion of having a baby pet the same way ppl have designer teacup dogs, or even "parents who can't have kids" or so, but i imagine there are ppl who would want babies that desperately versus them just being raised in captivity to be experimented on

Kuroa did ask if MC would have sex so maybe it's a seduction/temptation thing if not a 'reward' to motivate him more (versus punishing him for his escape attempt)

Well the way I think of it, is that "livestock" probably don't have breeding rights, if they are less than human then why would you want more of them. Especially when you can just take from the existing population instead of spending the money to raise one.

I suppose there might be some ppl getting a kick outta buying a 'pet' and impregnating them versus just 'sterilizing' all the female sex slaves before selling them off (since i assume they'd check for stds too) , but i mean 'livestock' do get bred irl too so i wouldn't be surprised if some babies are born just to be like organ donors/stem cell research and all that

Dunno if the concepts of orphans exist here, or if a couple would be 'punished' for getting pregnant and not wanting to keep a kid

lol if this was a huger scale like a published novel or long running live action series, it could get into the political consequences of how other countries react or if there are some 'wars' but i imagine japan would cut itself off from other ppl, if not just only allow in the 'rich' travelers/tourists who wanna buy a 'pet'

Re-read the first chapter, and MC's mom mentions "if you were a livestock's child, I could understand (if you didn't get human rights)", so...I guess that could imply (if the author remembers it), that someone born as a livestock's child would also lead a 'normal' life, go to school, etc and get 'human rights' since you get the 'results letter' at 17, but i imagine other than an average looking boy versus a cute baby girl that most babies would be bought to be a pet /adopted by sterile couples

(tho surprised it wouldn't be like that 'death notice' manga where you're just injected from a young age with 'nanobots' and trackers or so that could like just kick in/control you so there wouldn't be ppl trying to resist/escape lol)
