I still don't get why we were forced to see this entire (extremely horrible on the eyes, and uninteresting to boot) scene for the last few chapters... Mc was holing up in a library and will only receive a summary after the fact - and I envy him for that.

I just realized that the artist seems to do the cover for volume 5 and maybe volume 3. The rest were, I guess, the LN artist?

idk how to approach this, I don't like being one of those hipsters that's like "I read the LN of this and it's WAY better", but this is one of my favorite LNs to keep up with but you can't even really call the manga "not doing it justice".

There are plenty of manga out there that are based on LNs that cut stuff out or maybe don't go into a character's thinking in every panel for the sake of brevity but still hit the story beats to keep it moving along, but reading this is almost unbearable. If I hadn't read the LN (and re-read it a few times when I had nothing else to do), I would be completely lost during a lot of the scenes, idk how someone who hasn't read the LN actually keeps up with this, not to mention as others have mentioned the art is extremely lackluster. The images I imagined while reading; I was really looking forward to seeing them brought to life in a proper manga but what I got was something that looks like a rough sketch of what a manga should be with copypasted enemies and no backgrounds, backgrounds are what make stories like these! 80% of what draws people to a fantastical setting is the SETTING. Where's my fantastic vistas or detailed drawings of the cities, a bustling adventurer's guild or a well orchestrated fight scene? The fights in the LNs are almost univerally praised as top-tier and what we get here are a few lines barely showing what's happening.

I don't really like shitting on artists who draw for a living, they can do a way better job than just me but looking at this all I can think of is that the mangaka is either completely new and incompetent and somehow managed to con their way into drawing this, or they're completely swamped with work and are just phoning it in and this series doesn't deserve that.

It makes me sad because the LN has I believe 875 chapters before its conclusion and there's just no way the bulk of them are going to get drawn, and some of the arcs are phenominal, but with this low level of work being put into it I would be shocked if it doesn't get axed by the end of the first manga volume.

thats exactly what i been saying, everything looks so amateurish how the fk he managed to get the job to draw this, they try to save time by using cgi avatars but the whole thing just looks like ass, there was like no difference between small goblins, generals and the king because they have all this black shading so sad too sad because everyone that read the WN says its amazing

We notice that this manga has a saint of a translator who provides tons of extra context in the credits page.
im actually just picking up from where the first translator left, i saw they did it and after i saw some of the horrible chapters i decided to do it too.
