Would the gilmas really risk losing him by punishing him for something as small as this? If it were me (and any other real human being), I woulda said, "Without me doing what I did, not only the high-ranking adventures and nobles in the dungeon, but everyone outside the dungeon woulda been killed at some point, too. If you're gonna punish me over something small just so you can take advantage of me, perhaps I should go make my living in a more reasonable country?
