More like, it got merged with Eliza, sort-off like Cell Fusion.

And as Renka said before, when cards die, they aren't dead in true sense, because they just return to the "Mother Sea" and get reborn later.

Cards are immortal in a sense, they just discard their current body and later return with a new body.

Though Named Cards aren't like that, because if they die, they get trapped in a limbo, making it impossible for them to discard their body, nor allow them to return to their origin. They can be revived, but only by their contractor who named them.
So basically they could be stuck for life if their contractor dies as well.
isn't that not nice to the cards? human have to die eventually. I kind of wanna drop it because of this :meguuusad:

Well, its been a while since i read the Web Novel, so don't remember it all, but there maybe ways to bypass that issue.

Also, like Renka said previously in Ch.26, Naming is truly a testament of a Card's Will.

It's funny that we as humans dislike change. And I won't lie while we still see the ghoulah in there I think the LN look would of made some more happier with the change. Also I do think that it's time our MC got a utility card instead of someone who's just constantly out in the frontlines, like everyone else is.
I actually prefer this one. Giving her an elegant one piece dress is a nice way to preserve her calm, slightly robotic personality from her ghoul form. Now she's a calm, slightly robotic, elegant sexy vampire lady that can clearly kick your ass.

The LN design (of which I assume is the one shown on the credits page), doesn't really say anything much other than sexy woman with minimum clothing. If you tell me she's a succubus from another isekai series I'd probably believe you.

I think there's a few bits in the WN that goes into these things, but I'm having trouble finding them. I found them eventually. Morose is a bit off with the stuff about named cards. I'm going to spoiler tag them, but it's more for series mechanics rather than plot points.

Found one(MTL):
Chapter(Volume) 12, Episode 6-2
[Tips] Timing of card disappearance

The timing for the card to disappear is when the card acknowledges the death of its master.
In the case of unused cards that have only been registered as ownership, they will disappear upon the death of their master, but the higher the favorability rating, the greater the time lag between the master's death and their disappearance (making death more difficult to accept).
In particular, if you know of a method such as a resurrection skill, if the card has been named, it will not disappear as long as there is a possibility of resurrection.

So basically, it's up to the card to decide when they disappear after their master dies, if they think the master can be revived they'll stick around, but if the master is very, very dead (cremated, for example) they'll return to the Mother Sea.

Eventually found the other one I was looking for.
MTL again:
Chapter(Volume) 8, Episode 6
[Tips] Changing race

For cards, there is not much difference in the system between ranking up and minor changes in the sense that they are just changes to the race.
The system is basically only beneficial for the card being changed, as it allows the card to gain some of the acquired skills of the card being changed race, so unlike resurrection cards, there is room for negotiation when the card is made.
However, for proud races, this means "passing on their own race and acquired skills as is," so even if there are benefits, it is often difficult to accept.

This one is more confusing. First of all, each card is a unique entity, if the card is used in a revival, it gets no benefit and just returns to the Mother Sea. Race change is basically the same as a rank up, but it's a lateral move or even a rank down, it's a way to put more acquired skills on a card, such as Fallen One or True One. For the card being used, they return to the Mother Sea, but the can also gain acquired skills of the card they are ranking up. In this case, the original Vampire returned to the Mother Sea, but was able to take along some number of Eliza's 8 acquired skills.

I don't get it. So I guess this is another instance of quality over quantity? Cuz I dont see any other reason to sacrifice that vampire card as evolving material for Eliza.
You might have gotten an answer in the three following pages, but - basically yes.

But also - Eliza has a personality they all like, the Vampire is (or would be) an unknown nobody, they'd have to summon her to know. And if they summon her once, she might be non-usable for upgrades (or they/MC could see it as murder if she was).

Also also - the MC whole schtick is about rewarding his followers(cards), Eliza has done a lot of work for him, so when an opportunity falls into his lap, of course he'll use it (to instigate further loyalty into all his follwers.)

-

As for why I stepped into the forums to begin with - I don't overly mind Recursion (it sounds chuuni enough), Recurrence works just because "she once was A, now she's B - and now she's A again - i.e. her state of A:ness is now recurring). (And it's also a chuuni wording since there's no deeper thought to it.)

Also - the final page is a bit small. All the main pages were great, but the commentary page got a bit grainy to read.

Finally - thank you very much for your hard work and I hope your time of troubles is over.
