I absolutely hated the conclusion to this. It's a little open-ended but it appears to be a tragedy with a silver lining that the protagonist is desperately clinging on to.

I'm tempted to add a tragedy tag but I gather some people would disagree (Given how many people seem to have come away thinking this was a nice cute story?? Yikes. I'm not on the same page as y'all.)

For those who want to know what I'm talking about, this is one of those where
the androids all go bye-bye and the humans who owned them hook up instead. Which is just not okay in a setting where they've made every indication that the AIs have indeed grown feelings.

Further spoilers:

And people are okay with it because the humans get together and have sex and semi-mistake each other for the robots, which were each made to (unless they just happened to, it's vague) look like the other human?!

Mind you, it's a pretty good speculative sci-fi story on these counts. Reading between the lines as to what happened, there's some interesting ethical/philosophical questions and such...

But it makes for a terrible romance, unless you're into ironic, heart-wrenching tragedies, of course, which I know some of you are.
