You can see the canopy's explosive bolts triggered. He probably ejected in extremis.

On the other hand, author's using fucking F-117 (notoriously dogshit in terms of agility) for AIR SUPERIORITY and has them BASED ON A FUCKING CARRIER (they do NOT have hook/tow systems for that). Unforgivable.
