I can't help but feel like the author has nailed romantic pacing, and simply hidden it all behind dry comedy. So we'll blink and 20 chapters will go by and suddenly there's Progress With A Capital 'P' but really, it's been here all along.

Thanks for the TL work. Happy New Year.

Wonder if there's a jp equivalent slang to "smooshed" lol

Would assume on Christmas Day itself they'd be sold out by now or they pre order like 100 mini cakes for the ppl that do decide to buy it the day of

Files a lawsuit xD wonder how many microcells could smoke if they wanted to

NOOOO EVEN THE CAKE SLICE!?!? LMAO

Honestly, I bet Kuroi forgot he was supposed to consider whether he wanted to start going out with Haida officially lmao, mans probably agreed to it and forgot to tell her 😂

their exchanges always feel so natural and the humour is never forced, it's great!!

I don't know how to explain it, but the shot of them in the middle of a normie world that keeps going on without them, while they have an awkward and nontraditional moment, but it's still THEIR moment and it's still so big for them, is such a feel. :qq:

Fuck, I don't want to just see them just get together. I want to see them in a relationship, getting married, having children, growing old; they have a practically perfect chemistry while being deadpan and blunt with each other. They play off each other like if they were married for years!

Soooo, he did actually hug her, didn't he ? The "someone behind her trying to get through" is just post-hoc made up bullshit, right ?

Also, I know they're Japanese and stuff. And awkward weirdos even by Japanese standards ! But still :
  • she wants to share her cake but decides the best course of action is to get the cake to the parking lot rather than invite him in ?
  • she comes down with one fork not two ?
  • he doesn't offer her a piece of mushed cake ?
  • he passes on a perfect opportunity to "say aaaaah"-her ? (alright that last one is way too high level for them at this point)

These guys put more efforts in fumbling all their interactions than I put in ranked dota.

edit: my comment was a bit unfair to him. He DID realise that her bringing the cake was almost certainly leading to disaster, so that's a good point for him. But it took him so long to reach that conclusion the cake was already dropped by then, so I'm only awarding half a point on that.
Regarding why she didn't invite him up:

Iirc, the connotation of inviting someone of the opposite sex into your house/apartment in Japan is very much "let's bang," or at the very least, official couple behavior. That's why she can't suggest it, because they aren't officially going out yet
