It's really hard to describe in what way this manga sucks at romance. It's so eerily uncanny. No 2 humans would act like this, yet at the same time it tries to portray it as wholesome. Additionally the arbitrary rules set in place to make this entire premise work are also just not held very tightly. Early on we see Liam barely be able to contain his libido at all and nearly pouncing on Sora just by being near her at night, and now he's somehow okay with sleeping in the same bed and hugging her.

Yeah... this is grooming. At this point I am unsure whenever everything until now was supposed to be some sort of author's idea of playful romance between protagonists and I just don't see it that way because my own bias clouds my judgement. Or because the author is slowly leading these characters, whenever intentionally or unintentionally, towards coitus by continuously playing into the subject of Sora's mental immaturity from her years of slave hood and her overall naivete to Liam's intentions, which will eventually culminate in Sora developing affection for Liam.

All in all, by now I am quite invested in how the story ends.

They have no chemistry whatsoever.

Like a going shopping date is supposed to be used to show/build chemistry and the author runs through it so fast here that it's wasted, and that's been sorta the case for all the other supposed to be chemistry scenes in this manga.
