yeah it also comes off as more shallow having this story being a plot point/'reason' after there was another chara that actually had a childThe narrative arc of this volume has probably been the weakest. And that's probably because of this focus on Hinano's toxic relationship, and not on how Honoka learned some secret from the host club to lead to her beating Maria.
And she felt like an actual character -- her motivations were to provide for her son, who was actually involved in the story; and not just buying 1 million dollars of alcohol...yeah it also comes off as more shallow having this story being a plot point/'reason' after there was another chara that actually had a child
The alcohol business/brewery must be making bank, IRL ppl aside i feel like they could easily just print labeled of 2D "oshis" and all that and sell those as wellAnd she felt like an actual character -- her motivations were to provide for her son, who was actually involved in the story; and not just buying 1 million dollars of alcohol...
My main criticism with this arc is that it's really hard to emphasize with why Hinano is doing it.And she felt like an actual character -- her motivations were to provide for her son, who was actually involved in the story; and not just buying 1 million dollars of alcohol...
Feel free to drop a tagged spoiler but does anything happen here with Arata? It feels like it's going to spill into another psychosis character, or a nothing burger that felt like it had some weird build up...My main criticism with this arc is that it's really hard to emphasize with why Hinano is doing it.
As in, the small payoff and the seeming awareness of what Hinata is doing and how it's all fake.
It would've made more of an impact if he were actually deluded about it being a genuine romance and it weren't something as weird as investing 22 million yen into a champagne power. It's so weird, why not give Hinata the money directly then?
It would be a far more compelling arc if Hinano were an actual host addict and deluded rather than realistic. Like that character that was in love with Honoka who kept spending money on it. That felt a lot more believable.

Ya, there's no clear motivation for why she wants to do it so badly. Is she sick and obsessed? Is she doing it to win him from someone else? Did he promise her something after he "graduates?" It's been implied he doesn't actually care about her. It's the weirdest framing ever. There was also that brief comment someone sent randomly about cutting wrists. My main criticism with this arc is that it's really hard to emphasize with why Hinano is doing it.

yeah you'd think with them already living together she wouldn't 'need' to unless it was underlying more toxic and borderline abusing with her more or less being forced to pay for him (but just buying clothes/paying for rent would prolly be more of a priority unless he was also somehow in debt to the club or so)Ya, there's no clear motivation for why she wants to do it so badly. Any motivation other than, "I really have to do this!" from her end would really clear up this plot.
As I put in the notes. I was really wondering whether it was some kind of idiom in Japanese in this business because this title is filled with all sorts of host and prostitution slang, some of which I already knew, some of which I had to look up, but I couldn't find anything about this, but I really didn't understand the significance. There was also that brief comment someone sent randomly about cutting wrists.
With how much the club takes and how much Hinano outspends everyone else, Hinata would probably earn more by just becoming the former's private host at home to be honest.yeah you'd think with them already living together she wouldn't 'need' to unless it was underlying more toxic and borderline abusing with her more or less being forced to pay for him (but just buying clothes/paying for rent would prolly be more of a priority unless he was also somehow in debt to the club or so)
yeah, if you've read asukanojo there's def a 'menhera' chara that self harms because of her yandere obsession with a host so it def is literally someone threatening to send them a vid of that (i believe there was a thing like that in the gachikoi manga too)As I put in the notes. These kinds of arrangements happen, I've even known people who do it where they get a “suggardaddy” they even live with for money. They both know, though probably have some willing suspension of disbelief that it's primarily about the money.
