I mean he did that in the same breath where he tried killing the MC's grandpa, sent his soldiers to their death after feeling the pressure, tried to sneak attack and kill the MC in front of his wife and child. In the end, he sees an enemy and chose to think the guy would be a decent person when we know he attacked for personal benefit even after learning the identity of the MC
