Guns were used alongside crossbows and bows in europe for a long while, but they had plate and mail along with the fact guns were much weaker and most of the early ones were literal hand cannons and were very finicky, but introducing more "modern" guns into asian warfare?!? only thing restricting it is the craftsman, gunpowder, and the steel quality
