but he's the only one who can make them and it's not like they have said much about the people of the world's personalities/morals and factions aside from trash parents (aka how scummy are the people) and he plans to be the strongest its literally his early game gimmick (like oh no a *npc saw me use the gimmick ill abandon in a week). also search literally means he can't be ambushed by monsters, right? not sure tho?
but all in all, you are correct strange he didn't dissect the animals himself to prevent leaking and for the test instead went for a monster he could beat without the change stone although I think he might still be in the *this is a game stage of his character so he's careless.

I really hate when isekai MCs acknowledge something as being broken cheat magic / secret player knowledge / whatever, and then when people correctly freak out when they use it, they just go "ehhh~ I was just using this change magic, you know?" like they think it's common.

If he was legitimately clueless about how OP he is (like some MCs are) it'd be one thing, but he established beforehand how this was a broken skill he only knew because of his past knowledge, and it was a spell learned from late-game enemies. He has no reason to pull that shit.
