We have got quite a few chapter post-parting, but I don't recall Rudeus spending any time pondering how to beat Orsted. He was far more concerned about his ED, his family, his friends, and other such matters. In fact he usually doesn't want to fight at all, although he did fight a bunch as an adventurer before hitting the academy.
