Elinalise ought to respect Rudeus a bit more when he didn't immediately jump into marrying Roxy as well. It shows he's still dedicated to his first wife, who just happens to be Elinalise's grandchild.

I have to say this is the kind of harem building I can respect, instead of the romcom type in 99% of harem titles. The other acceptable type (in my eyes) is the political one, as long as the story is otherwise convincingly political, so that it really seems like every new member is essential for greater reasons than just to make harem loving readers happy.

Political harems are great for drama and comedy, and this kind of harem feels a bit tragic, which is also good for drama, but my personal favorite is the "everyone loves everyone" kind of harem, where it's not just one guy with multiple wives, but a group of people who all love each other. The best part of the "Everyone loves everyone" type is that it's able to coexist with political drama and other tropes.

Aye, I have also seen a few titles where that has happened. It's not bad, but naturally it does require real character building, which many authors aren't capable of. After all, it's not enough that the harem members merely get along. There must be something more going on, and it needs to be convincing.

I've read a lot of trash-art manga in my life, but never did I expect Mushoku Tensei to get the mirrored face disease too...

mistake right on the second page should be "my mother" not "your mother"
 How could the human translator, proofreader, typesetter, and quality checker all failed to notice that Rudeus was thanking Lilia for taking care of his mother rather than Lilia's mother? :thonk:
