Is this series on hiatus? Or rather, was there an announcement of this series's hiatus?

Edit: Yep artist is sick. Damn. Hope they get better.

This is a sub-series covering details from the LN that aren't covered in the mainstream manga.
This is the one that follows most of what's following this one:

The part where this one comes in is before volume 11: chapter 51. Quite a few things in this sub-series are covered later (as flashbacks) in the mainstream manga linked above.

Thank you for the clarification... I saw this series popping and three pages in I could've sworn I'd already read this somewhere. I dropped off the main series after he
bought a house for the elf

... seems to still be a popular series so might pick it up again one day. Not used to the sub-series phenomena, the only active ones I read are / were the slime side series for Campfire Cooking and 4-koma So I'm A Spider.

The main manga is going through its best characterization as of yet, though it doesn't hold a candle to the source material. I would seriously recommend the light novel for Mushoku to every person on the planet. It's an experience in and of itself.

Any reason why this series is still labeled as "ongoing"? It was begun to adapt one arc from the light novels, and that arc completed with Chapter 16.
