I believe it's to make her an alibi when the noble dude got questioned for suspicion of having a slave in his basement, pretty sure it was addressed not long ago that some manufactured drug/medicine can be harmful if leaking out so a basement was needed, and for the last bit, there might have been an established law about putting surveillance magic which can be a breach of privacy (and a breach of contract too) which then would get her in trouble later.

All in all, you don't know a person until you dig deep into it, the noble apothecary dude might have been seen like a normal guy with a bit of quirk.

Think hidden safe but bigger. She was basically a carpenter building a vault which later got a hidden wall and prison cells that wasn’t made by her. The guild was also the ones to make the blueprint later which the previous homeowner weren’t present for or didn’t tell them about.
