@Hoofan_1 - Right, and it's subtle, but he became more of a caretaker because of an absent parent and because of the other adults around him... They are bad at that themselves. But regardless, my point is that authors do this kind of stuff to push towards a certain character element or story arc and justify it. It's not bad per say, just extremely generic. And I honestly feel as though they do it because they've seen it done before so it's easy to write, LMFAO.
Regardless, I agree he's not edgy because of it, and I could be wrong and maybe she wasn't cheating/a money hoe and the dad was wrong, which I VERY highly doubt, but it did shape his character and I would be personally shocked if his mom doesn't have some significance, later on, to push the story and his character along.
