Depending on how well the mom knows kanata i wouldn't be surprised if she thought she was joking/playing around

Tho this series is overall light hearted so hopefully it'll work out. unless the author had a similar/bitter experience and wants to have some catharsis with a successful "cut off/stay outta my life" kinda thing.

(that said , even without unsupportive parents, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some ppl out there, if they suddenly became like millionaires overnight to like move halfway across the country if not leave and 'start over'/never see their family again versus just keeping in contact tho i'm sure some ppl would travel just far enough to have an excuse to not visit as often or so)

Kanata fell harder? I would disagree, Hana stuck around watching Kanata go through several relationships while silently pining in the hopes Kanata would just suddenly reciprocate (this somehow worked out for her, do not attempt irl). Girl is a serious trooper, she just doesn't show it. Kanata is just more prone to insecurity about their relationship status, probably afraid Hana will get disillusioned and break it off like her previous relationships.

Also this like damn. It's kinda crazy people still do this. My mom is the worst, she outs me to strangers constantly even when I get upset at her about it. I tell her it's none of their business but she just doesn't even think about it when she does it. Not that I care much anymore since I don't live in the same town as her, still annoying.
