So what happened to her then? People were saying last chapter that she was assaulted but that doesn't seem to be what happened here but it's also left vague, I guess to keep it family friendly? But I don't think you can broach the subject of having the "good guys" murder an entire town (including innocent people) and still have it be family friendly.

The options I think it might be are:

1. She accidentally ate (killed) him
2. He found out she was a yokai and rejected her harshly (maybe she killed him by accident in this)
3. He sold her out to raped by people in the village
4. People from the village killed him (or knocked him out) and raped her

I was hoping it wasn’t SA and just A.. assault, but the context clues point to it. I know the thought makes people uncomfortable, but it is what it is.

Speculation Is she interacted with a… not so nice human during a not so nice point in that country’s history. Her nature makes her desirable, but she fought the part that makes her eat people, which left her vulnerable when they found out what she was…

Maybe they would have went more in-depth if it was her story, but it’s Taya’s, so it just focuses on the parts she’s there for. If we missed out on an entire bug family being mantisized, we’ll miss out on this (honestly I’m thankful for that).

Back to the main story. It’s obviously been many years since then, at least since WWII. I’m sure Taya has mellowed out regarding humans since then, especially since she knows Bone Daddy would massacre them all if they find out about her.

I mentioned her pulling a Hitokiri Battousai last chapter, which fits as due to her experience, she became a better person(?) and met Haru.
