It's so odd to see her thinking this way. Like it'd be one thing if we hadn't seen much of the world and so for all we know what she's saying is true and so her words could mean something. Here, she just seems unaware of the world around them (not criticizing the author to be clear, this is probably intended) since we have seen way more impressive than a talented girl in a magic school. It just makes her so small.

I like all these new classmates but I wonder when we will really get to know the father and the middle sibling. We've only had a bit of info on father and have absolutely ZERO info on the middle child, not even a name. Maybe they went to school or something but just weird we've gotten nothing on them.

I dont think its weird. Plot progression is a thing, if they reveal everything right away there wont be anything to show later. They told us about their existence, we can wait until they get shown
