I'm responding to the past commenter but since it's been a year since they commented, I won't tag them. I think it's foreshadowing that Fei Xing is actually part of the Dong Fang clan while Xian Yun isn't since Fei Xing has low alcohol tolerance while Xian Yun has high alcohol tolerance.

That is a lot of exposition. That makes it clear that the old version of the story was part of ○ site though. Can't imagine that was a particularly straightforward story, since we had to circle back so many times and now they revealed a fact that makes you reread everything in the new context
