Fighting Gamer here, anti air is a move that covers ground to air approach in 2D Fighting game. Good to punish readable air approach, some can turn them to air combo and extend the punishment time until the end of the turn.
Please note that it’s common in Japan to have Fighting game that has multiple mobility option asides from jumping. Guilty Gear and Blazblue franchise has majority of character being able to airdashes, double to triple jumps, and teleports.
