Me personally I never understood both parents working when you have a kid. Unless you need the money then sure but this situation doesn’t look like that. Having a kid just so they can be raised by someone else is so weird to me, before you drop a child into the world you and your partner need to figure out who’s staying home and who’s working. Just my 2 cents anyways, as the son of a double working family who saw neither parent growing up.

For sure, it is not clear that they are hurting for cash. So working for more money or to pursue personal goals is very odd when you have child that needs their parents.

Also mad point for the Father eating his kids candy! :dogkek:

It might have been harsh....or rather, it was harsh and scummy, but Xu Qing just taught a few lessons to his kid:
1. don't believe/assume that everyone acts the same. Just because you saw a person acting some way, it doesn't mean everyone will do the same
2. don't trust anyone...not even your dad :dogkek:

Both my parents are working and I was raised by a caretaker yet I see my parents often. I turned out alright.

We haven't seen Haozi's wife in so long, I don't remember her name. I'm still upset with the school day chapter, Haozi's a law enforcer after all, so it's a bit more understandable if he's preoccupied with work.

Like this is starting to smell like an affair or something with her missing for two shown family events like this for their own child due to being busy with work. I can't imagine them struggling with money with how Haozi's father is and being a law enforcer without something fishy going on with one of'm.

Same. My brother and I had dinner with my parents every day and my mum always went over our homework at night. We also had breakfast together in the mornings. They were able to make time for us every day.
