I believe it's the studio who has to pick up their paused project. The author completed the web novel before the adaptation started, I think.

But yeah I really wanna see that back as well.

This chapter adapts the final chapter 341 of the web novel. There is an epilogue wherein the author mentions that he intends to have a Jianghe-POV ending, but to keep the storyline clear, it's presented in the form of extra chapters with other side stories. There are 47 such chapters, and given that the comic roughly takes 1-2 chapters to adapt 1 novel chapter, depending on how much detail is omitted, we could indeed possibly have close to 100 chapters left.
