In the hands of a better writer, maybe. If we know one thing about Naito, it's that he is not a good writer.

A sign of a bad writer is poor planning, and the fact that he is now revising the script as it plays out means things are going to get wild from here.

What would be a pretty great reveal is if Naito belatedly realises a 5-psychic panel  would look cool, and so at the last fight revises for Kuro to have survived the incoming nuke. It wouldn't even take much doing, just have him throw Tas out of the blast radius and then show the nuke hitting the city; if we don't see a body then there's always a way to bring them back.

Introducing revision now means anything can happen if they set things up well enough.
