For context, Tallien died in 1820 in reality, years from the events of this chapter.

Madame de Beauharnais is Josephine, Napoleon's future wife.

There isn't much in this chapter to comment on otherwise.

Also , Imagine cucking your own brother just to throw the woman aside to chase someone richer anyway. What a bastard.
Also, I'm not sure I like the Saint-juste being a ninja avenger assassin storyline. It seems a bit goofy. I mean extending his life longer than in history is one thing but don't also make him this invincible secret agent who is able to know where everyone is going to be at all times and sneek into anywhere by himself and arrange everything by himself while pretending to be dead.
It's still fun though.
