Sometimes I feel like the parents of Naruto characters are noticeably absent. Like what do Lee’s parents think about this 50/50 chance surgery. In this particular case it doesn’t matter too much since Gai definitely acts as a father figure for Lee, but in a lot of other scenes I always wonder what the parents think about the lives their kid live. The chunnin exams are a very good example, the rookies are still considered kids but do the parents have no problem with their kids taking part in an exam that can very well cost them their lives? Even Sakura’s parents, since she doesn’t come from a ninja clan, as far as I know, her family is just a regular one. I guess the Hyuga clan would probably want their kids to probe themselves in an exam like that but for the families of Asuma’s squad that live more noticeable laid back lives, it feels odd that this sort of idea wasn’t ever explored.
