Negative search filter (the exclusion instead of inclusion) does not seems to work on demographic tags. :not a bug:

Hi ya.

Just so say, when i perform a search with a tick to include, and double tick to exclude, that it wont always filter out certain titles from the results.

For example, i could exclude items such as tragedy or sports just fine, but if i also exclude things like Josei or Shoujo, they will still appear within the results.

For bug finding i can provide an imgur on request.

I'm on the latest 64bit chrome

for reproduction, on the latest search i filtered as such:

Include> Isekai
Exclude> 4-koma, Yaoi, horror, Josei, Shoujo, Tragedy

Search URL: https://mangadex.org/?page=search&source_lang=2&genres_inc=41&genres_exc=1,14,15,27,35,37

Anyhow, hope this helps.

@reeverdark

The demographic genre tags are being phased out in favor of the actual demographic field. It won't detect the demographic in the demographic field when you exclude it

@Plykiya

Any update on this? It's still broken.

I'd imagine many people prefer not to see any e.g. Josei or Shoujo in search results :(

@WongFeiHong No updates yet, our focus is on other higher priority features at the moment. We'll focus on fixing that part of search when we revamp our genres and add H genres as well.
