They love each other and want to get married when their ages permit it. I believe the boy is a middle schooler already, based on his mathematics homework. Or at least very close to it. As far as I can see, there's nothing particularly outrageous in this work. Quite tame and vanilla.

@PrincessM @quagzlor @agtra The “shota” and “romance” tag have been there since the very beginning, so I really don’t know what you all were expecting, but here’s a simple solution: if it makes you uncomfortable or weirded out, just stop reading it. It’s much better than seeing the same comments every chapter complaining when the tags are right there. If you are made uncomfortable by age gaps like this in manga, why would you start reading a manga with those two tags? It doesn’t make much sense to me.

well, i do like age gap stories.
as an example, you have the Shota Orc manga which is tons of fun.

the difference is between two characters genuinely falling for each other, and grooming.

that's the part where the creepy vibe comes from.

you see these comments a lot on this manga, but not on others of similar styles.

i do still like the manga. it's cute and fun. but that doesn't take away from the possible undertones i'm getting from it.

He’s just more shy, like it’s stated in the bio for his character, and she’s just more perverted and proactive, which is also stated in her bio. And I see those types of comments on a lot of age gap romance manga besides this one.

see, the chapter which really set things off for me (and others, it seems) is chapter 14.
it gave off some really creepy grooming vibes. which is likely what's colouring the way a lot of us see this manga now.

in a way it's no longer a light hearted romantic thing between two people, it's a girl raising a boy to be her... idk.
also, part of grooming is convincing the other person that they're attracted to you.

@quagzlor Who's to say he can't be attracted to her? In every chapter we have seen him being happy in her company. She's certainly trying to push him here and there, but you can also view it as the boy being shy. At the end of the day we are only seeing glimpses of their life.

The problem with the grooming analogy here is that they are already a couple. They are spending a good deal of their free time together and with the parents' blessing. It would be pretty fascist to tell two people they can't be a couple, especially when they are close in age. Typically grooming is some scumbag approaching a stranger and slowly preparing them for sexual things in a clandestine manner, as far as I've understood.

grooming can take place even among family members. there are horror stories of parents grooming their children.

anyways. it's not like i'm condemning the manga here. i was just agreeing with a few other posters who got weird vibes from it.
i'm in no place to pass any kind of moral judgement here, i'm right here reading it alongside you guys.
