Goddamn it.. "we have to surrender or break through" well.. how about the obvious part ? FIND A NEUTRAL COUNTRY EMBASSY.
That or try to cross the border in the opposite direction which have a country in which there is no war going on, the security there is bound to be more lax or at least bribeable to a certain extent. Once out of the hostile country, just take a long route back home.
