I thought it was weird that he says "Knowing you are a Human", like the whole "Cat" thing was a misunderstanding. No, it turns out the that whole bit was altered. It's actually something like

"It's not like I've been treating the human form as a cat from the beginning!!

I did tell you to stay in your cat form!"

As in "You've been a cat, so I treated you like one. I kept treating you like one, and even told you to stay like one so I can keep doing it!" Which tracks, because the cat treatment largely (If not entirely) stopped when she turned Human.
