At least now, over 140 chapters later, we finally get the implication that maybe her being at the cat cafe wasn't entirely voluntary. So she might not be the perfect hypocrite she was first painted as. It was entirely voluntary, and she's a complete, and total hypocrite; she's just bad at the job. This is my guess, but my theory is that, cat becoming bakeneko on its own is pretty rare, and her family seems to be the only pureblood around, so when a bakeneko turns up, it's either one of their descendant or borrowed power.
