She saw Death Note 2 in the mirror, obviously. Nothing else would elicit that extreme of a reaction, and a little kid wouldn't know Death Note 1, which is why the little sister wasn't affected.

Ok yeah, I was trying to elucidate why this chapter was hard to understand and it's pretty much all angles huh.

That plus it would have been nice to start the flashback in a way that clearly indicates which kid is MC. Way too big of a gap between someone in the future calling her Hayakawa and someone mentioning her name in the flashback.
