Alright, this one got to me. Getting transferred alone to some alien dystopia would be one thing, but getting transferred to another version of your own reality and becoming a stranger in your own body is a different horror than I was expecting. That one student who initiated the test of courage was probably a cult member spy and may not have even been from the MC's side of reality to begin with. Anyway, thanks for the TL.

Imagine being isekai'd to our world. Suffering.

On a side note, isn't there something strange about that lamp over there...?
STOP, PLEASE. :fml:

It's interesting reading ones like this- I don't speak enough Japanese to find these kind of internet horror writings on my own! But it's kind of charming how familiar it feels. Mysterious circumstances, a couple of very strong visuals, and an open ending that sparks off the imagination of the reader. Classic.

Stupid title, but this is probably the best story in this anthology yet. Too bad it's not a volume final, because that means it's probably not going to get a part 2.

ppl sure do like doing 'tests of courage' in jp, friends and i weren't the adventurous type but i guess there'd be ppl wanting to explore abandoned buildings

I mean "reverse isekai" is a genre too lol

oof it must be sucky for a family to think you have amnesia but unless they were shitty ppl, hopefully they'd be kinda and understanding

It works well as a twist too because it takes advantage of assumptions that hold for other stories.

Modern clothes = somewhere on earth
