Might not be a thing exclusive to this author, a lot of japanese ppl are kinda xenophobic/have biased in writings. as well as some other asian countries

like one korean thing i read mentioned something about "They dropped a bomb in japan" as a metaphor which is insensitive and it wasn't even like an action/military focused thing

Let us not even start even about the Korean manhwa artists. Most Japanese representation in manhwa is always depicted as them being evil/villains
