The chapter ended on a serious note but that credit page took me right out of it, that was hilarious.

As for the notes, Tezuka was the original Mangaka and an absolute genius, i think that much is undeniable. I've been guilty of saying harsh things about some manga in the past but there are cases where they just trigger some people for one reason or another and i think that's the case for Nightmare maker.

This is not a work made to appeal to a lowest common denominator or to your average manga fan, especially those that have not read that many manga, and gives a really strong shock value to readers at times. I mean it was just Maki's dream but we still saw our protagonist get NTR'd on this chapter, and she almost got raped for real a couple chapters ago. I think a fair criticism to this work and really to a lot of hentai/borderline hentai manga out there is that they really abuse too much the shock value, or try to pretty much intentionally scar the readers. So what i'm trying to say with this is that i'm not surprised some people gave this that much hate. I find this to be well written and to have a lot of 'soul' to it but to a lot of people just one shocking moment like that is enough to hate the manga and write it off completely.

And finally, this is something i think i said before on another chapter topic, thanks for scanlating it i and i think a number of other people really appreciate your efforts.

... i'm not surprised some people gave this that much hate. I find this to be well written and to have a lot of 'soul' to it but to a lot of people just one shocking moment like that is enough to hate the manga and write it off completely.

I understand that many people tend to dislike this kind of borderline hentai manga, for various reasons, especially those with high school girls and boys who have sex (something normal in real life after all, excluding sex with teacher of course, that is not normal), and ESPECIALLY those with rape scenes (many readers hate Berserk for this reason, in fact). People see (fictional) rape and they lost their minds...

I've just read that Glass Brain oneshot by Tezuka‐sensei, and I'm sorry to say that the background characters looking straight out of a gag manga manage to wreck an otherwise interesting story. Perhaps putting them in made sense 50 years ago...

I don't agree, but ok, I respect your opinion. Tezuka started his career making gag manga, so you will often see the same weird characters even in the most dramatic stories. It's the so-called "Tezuka star system".

This manga is a fucking trainwreck. What's worse is that people would fold this easily if this were irl.

This shit is a prime example of why the whole "This is a work of fiction; any name, person, event that takes place is purely coincidental" exists on real life. The fact people so addicted, they start their dreams is affecting real life is insane.

The nurse is the the saddest one. The fact all ot took was one dream for her to spiral into a hole of lust really disturbed me 😔

Usually that's the case, but for this manga, it's the damn incompetent MC that's pissing me off the most about this, none of this shit would be happening if he would've just recalled the damn machines and destroyed them like he was supposed to, nah instead he spreads that shit around, he even acknowledges that he's adding fuel to the fire, yet he still does nothing to put a stop to it


He only cares about his simpy ass crush on Akari (ik she actually likes him back) as long as she's happy in his eyes, he would literally let the entire school burn to the ground, hell we all know this ain't gonna stop at just the school, this def will spread more outside of it

If you didn't notice (and you clearly didn't), Maki had already made many copies of the machine, and she gave them to various students. He had to stop her, one way or another. The best way was probably pretending to work together with her.

Bro, I'm well aware she made more copies and distributed them as well, so you're wrong about that assumption. However...how else was she gonna make those machines without the original ones?? They're both to blame but he acts like this is not his problem


Fyi I gave both characters shit for this mess, I'm just focusing on Uchida atm cause he let this shit escalate this far without doing any type of damage control, it's still his responsibility since he's the inventor of the original machine, without that machine Maki wouldn't have made her version
