i clutched hard, also putting the text in the pages after translating it all is way faster, but still, i did a session of like 7 consecutive hours.how you did 15 pages just to catch up, is still a mistery to me...
hell yeahArmored Core mentioned 🔥🔥
Thank youuu for the paragraphI reread this chapter but your translation this time. And I must say it's quite interesting how different translations can be. I knew they could be different but I didn't realize to this extent.
There are parts where your translation is much better than the other and parts where theirs makes the most sense.
Just a few examples:
•You said "assassin" whereas they said "hitman". Assassin was definitely the more appropriate word.
•When Ayano is attacked in your translation she said "Why? Even though I'm on your side..."
•In their translation Ayano said: " Don't worry everyone is on your side". Actually from this sentence it's as if someone else is actually saying this, rather than Ayano.
Your translation makes the words Moritz says to Ayano afterwards make a lot more sense.
•When Walm calls them minors(in theirs the were called underage). In your translation Ayano has a thought bubble were she says "me, a minor...?" Whereas in theirs it says "she is underage though". Ayano's thoughts aren't even shared in theirs this is Walm speaking. Her questioning why Walm thinks of her as a minor might be become relevant. I haven't read the novel but I think that this was an important thing to distinguish.
Anyways, as I've said there are parts of theirs as well that I liked over yours but I don't want to type too much as I think I've gotten my point across.
I want to thank you for your translation. Having read both, it feels like I've just read a complete treasure map. Is the best way I can currently describe it xD.
Yeah i understand the thought, the thing is, we do not work great together, it would not become a better work, we have two different ways of doing work, we do translation differently, we use different programs (i even use linux and he uses windows, and i use gimp and krita while he uses photoshop) and I personally do not work great in teams, i sadly never really learned how to work well in a team, and i prefer it to be this way too so that if stuff happens i can quit and i would still know there's someone translating this cool manga.wouldn't it be c-c-c-crazy if the scanlators would just... you know...work together to make a better final product?
