I’m gonna be honest, I’ve kinda lost all sympathy for him. Like at this point it’s all your fault, you left her alone for 3 years, why the fuck would she wait for you?

Like there’s no happy ending lmao, even if you succeed, what’s the point if you’ve already destroyed all the meaningful relationships in your life?

"Top Goon" "(Tom) Cruise Destroyer" Ahh, my sides!!

In other news, halfway through this chapter I was thinking of joking that the story would end with Nikaidou finally making it as a pro somewhere much further along the line as an old and grey man and going on to marry an equally old and grey Kasumi like he'd always dreamed of...only to have her fall ill just when they were about to go on their honeymoon cruise. Seriously didn't expect the author to actually do one better (but then again he's always managed to stay a step ahead of every last one of our expectations...)

This gooner robbed his mom, he is a 100% an addict, a legit crackhead, a menace

I am so happy for Kasumi for finding someone else, she shouldn't have send that card tho, this guy is dangerous, unrepentant, and like most addicts lacks any self awareness, he will pop up and pester her for money in order to finance his golf addiction

Long long loooong gone are the times when this was about making a dream come true, now it is all just to get a fix for the chase, and it can get worse only 3 people have been burned, 2 of them can actually recover, his mom will never go on that trip now

So you all know where we go from here...

I have no idea where the story is heading now
It is a FKMT manga it is heading ground under, he is gonna take a big loan from Teiai and eventually end up working for Ootsuki, if he gets lucky

Dude no one is commenting on him literally robbing his mom?
Have to admit, so many far-out developments in this chapter that I ended up losing sight of the elephant in the room

On another note, despite his admittedly insane single-mindedness, I do appreciate the author's efforts in creating a surprisingly three-dimensional (if somewhat exaggerated) character - on one hand possessing genuine humility, a highly scrupulous and diligent work ethic, a natural and unforced tenacity and (as the restaurant owner observed) a keenly observant eye that doesn't form unnecessary judgements about others; and on the other, a rather extreme obliviousness towards others' perception of him and a blissful disregard for imposing himself on others. That way, he's not altogether unlike some actual people I've come across over the years

This is genuinely the most depressing FKMT story I've ever read. These manga usually have an element of hope within them, but it feels like there is truly no way to save Nikaidou from himself. Even Kaiji, at his lowest of lows, was able to use the opportunities life gave him.
