sometimes the body horror in this manga has me confused. like, is that flesh protrusion real real or just a spiritual aspect only he can see? I feel like her head would be really wobbly in the first case

I think there was an extra or something in a recent chapter that explained what's going on? It was something like, "you can tell when a spirit possesses someone, because it 'sticks out.'" Ending on a panel of Asahi looking like that.

Man. Man. Man. Reminds me a bit of when there's an illness in a family.You dont/cant talk about it because it's embarrassing. It causes problems for you in school because you're up too late trying to help. And kids get fucking weird about Just Literally Anything unusual.

And the adults who should be helping have their own things keeping them busy, and it's so, so tempting to let a responsible kid help. maybe you don't even realize how bad its getting for both of them, cause a Good Kid doesn't want to explain they can't handle it, either.

And who's around to help their grandma with the kids.....?

Denouncing? Heck no! A child’s innocence is what these amoral monsters are taking advantage of! Ever since those Cottongley photos and that fairy simp Conan Doyle, media has been portraying these things as cute, and sparkly, and dainty, instead of uncaring and eldritch and uncanny! Ooh, look at their dainty wings! Look at their ickle tentacles! No! Their ways and morals are terrible and unknowable! Anything that is unknowable can’t be cute! I will die on the hill that states mushroom fairy circles are the white vans and candy of the pre 20th century. Except supernatural. First thing you know you’re a six year old following a sparkly light into a strange humming ring of stones and then BAM! You’re dumped twenty years in the future and you have to find a job to pay taxes with the knowledge of a first grader. And every night all you can here is the little tinny giggling of horrible little mouths…
