There is a rare skill that develops under certain circumstances. They likely think the MC has it, since he has basically been living those circumstances, and it would have very strong synergy with the MC's innate carrying capacity skill.

A buff to all allies, based on the load carried by the skill holder.
It tends to develop in people who have been forced to carry to much gear by others.

The MC's carrying capacity skill means he can carry so much more, and with it provide a much larger buff.

Ok I figured it was something along those lines. Good to hear there's a reason for it and not just oops everyone's dumb like pretty much every other kicked out of the party story.
