I wonder why the female lead would have to represent an ideal of any kind, is that a requirement? Now coming to your second question, I never liked being told what to feel or think, so how about making your own decisions about those things? By the way, it isn't necessarily contradictory to find something both relatable and annoying.
Agree, she is just someone that would exist, not an ideal and that's not a bad thing either.

Still don't get why those "friends" were so pissed with him hanging out with the girl
Because they’re groupies, or D riders whichever you prefer, they’re angry because his proximity to the popular girl as a “loser” makes her look bad, probably also pisses them off that he gets attention from her unprompted while they basically have to beg amongst a sea of other orbiters just to be around her

As a "new old man" I'm quite curious, is she the "cool" ideal of modern young woman, or the "cool" ideal of modern young men? Is the protagonist wimpiness supposed to be annoying or is it supposed to be relatable?
1. Probably the latter since I think the author is a man and that’s the type of image he’s trying to project onto the character
2. Both, though the order of “relatably annoying” or “annoyingly relatable” depends on the reader and their level of self awareness

I would totally read this, even if it's weekly or monthly. But sadly It's a OneShot, still a good one though

This is the reason why I love and hate one-shots. They are quick, straight to the point, and have an ending. But you get so invested that you just want more T_T
