Oda's words here about Ken's cooking being the "taste of the future" lends insight to his reaction (or lack thereof) when Ken told him that he's from the future. Oda must've noticed a while ago either due to his cooking techniques, foreign dishes, or a combination of the two that Ken not being from this era was the logical conclusion.
