While i don't share the slightest bit of experience the mc or the people around him are faced with, i dont understand how everyone is so cowardly towards him. It was only his parents at fault, or rather his mother, and he was young. Its unlucky to have a strong parallel with the mentioned drama but still it doesnt make sense.
Blame the culprid, blame the media but why be afraid of the mc.

Throughout all of my years of education, I don't think there ever was a single day when school was cancelled for any reason. Storms, blizzards, -35C (-31F) freezing cold. School was always going on. I often heard snow and such cancelling school abroad, but not here, oh no. If there had been a major fire inside the school building, that might have done it. Never happened.

This manga is definitely exaggerating it. Though that being said, he's not friendly with anyone at work. He's really blunt and curt with them, never goes out eating, drinking, or bowling after work with them, doesn't want to accept their help, never talks about himself. So, even after having worked alongside him for a while, the coworkers would have still felt like he simply wants nothing to do with any of them. Then they learn he's the son of a murderer. In reality, a murderer has often been a person nobody could tell from the outside, unless it had been one of those simple cases where the cops caught the culprit immediately. So, there have been long investigations, maybe even false suspects, before finally the police/prosecution gathered enough evidence. All that time the murderer would have likely kept going to work normally, chatting with colleagues, etc, even playing the role of a victim. This MC, however, acts, kind of, like he's a dangerous person nobody should approach. Of course it's a psychological self-defense mechanism, but from outsiders' point of view, he's acting like a ruffian.
