Thematically, a zombie is more fitting.
In the tradition a ghoul is a demon, not an undead (fun fact: in the original "Dawn of the Dead", Romero used "ghoul" rather than "zombie" to refer to the living dead).

@Authn Yes but they're clearly not referring to the pre-islamic Arab depiction but the general term for an undead familiar of a Vampire. Zombie is also a cultural specific Haitian term if you want to get picky.
